Dancing to Letters of Love and Hate:

With a review coming soon, here are my highlights from this evening's stunning performance of Battre le Fer/Battre le Noir. Reservation and performance times are available for the weekend's performances here:

A stage lined with empty glasses and covered in white feathers did not prepare tonight's audience for the powerful, fierce and daring choreography performed by dancers Patricia Van Deutekom and Denise Klevering. Nor did the changing video backdrop of two silhouettes holding hands, at peace with one another. 

Displaying exceptional strength and agility, the dancers performed love's intimacy with hate: the relationship between contact and non-contact, possession and rejection, control and chaos, strength and weakness.
